5 things a hard working, experienced and proud freelancer will be just fine with:
investment in sensible new business activity (not the same as free work)
losing on the basis of money only
saying no, when no is the only answer which protects their business
suggesting to a potential contractor that the brief has been rushed or is missing some critical content
in the right circumstances, being white labelled.
5 things a hard working, experienced and proud freelancer may not want to do:
free work, on the basis of ‘further projects in the pipeline’
free pitches, on behalf of another business which isn’t theirs
start work without agreeing fees or Terms
sign something about IP transfer and rights which is actually not possible (unfortunately, an experienced freelancer will always read that IP section)
block out their diary if there is no clear indication as to when the work is likely to start.
